| JOB SUMMARY: (Purpose and scope of job) Develop system requirements in cooperation with business community representatives and expert users. Document business requirements, initiate and support user requirements review and approval, support Q/A, training and implementation as needed, depending on project team skills and resource needs. Support Manager in completing deliverables and adhering to project plans. Primary support is for the GC Portal and Extranet, understanding of BEA Web Logic and Web Logic Content Management is preferable. Prior experience on supporting communication portals is essential. Secondary support includes all our Front Office applications. An individual should have a detailed understanding of how these reinsurance business workflows operate and be able to convert their associated business requirements into system specifications. REQUIREMENTS: (Knowledge, skills, and abilities) Communication Skills: " Good verbal and writing skills for often complex technical communications with Guy Carpenter colleagues and clients at many levels. Interpersonal Skills: " Strong ability to work with the business community. Develop and support procedures for clear and consistent definition of new or enhanced information needs or system processes. " Good interpersonal skills for establishing and maintaining good client relationships. Organizational Skills: " Good knowledge of lifecycle methodology, including requirements gathering, planning, user interface design, and testing. " Strong ability to be organized and pay attention to detail. Initiative: " Strong ability to work independently under minimal supervision. Technical and Analytical Skills: " Understanding IT life cycle and how application changes impact its dependencies. " Ability to develop business requirements, use cases and functional specification documents. " Great troubleshooting skills. " Good knowledge of business analysis techniques. " Good analytical skills for designing appropriate system solutions to business issues. " Overall knowledge of reinsurance concepts. " Basic knowledge of current technology and products. " Thorough knowledge of Excel and WORD, working knowledge of Microsoft Project. " Operating in the offshore model a plus | |

| EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: This position typically requires a four-year college degree in information systems or business and at least 2 - 4 years experience in GC or a similar setting. Business and computer coursework are desirable. RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: The following duties will be performed in a timely, accurate manner, while following Systems Development procedures and meeting applicable deadlines as communicated by the Global Applications Manager/Sr. Technology Manager or assigned project lead. The duties and responsibilities of this position cover the following areas: technical, methodology and communication/interpersonal. Technical " Develop and maintain reinsurance functional expertise and anticipate business and system needs, based upon changing industry conditions. " Maintain an awareness of systems, products and expertise available both within GC and elsewhere to use in addressing business unit needs. Methodology " Gather and document high-level and detailed business requirements of new and enhanced systems, in conjunction with business users and the development team. " Coordinate user review and approval at all stages of system design and delivery. " Coordinate demonstrations of new software and new software releases to the business community and participate in QA turnover meetings. " Write and execute business-level test scripts and record results. " Perform confirmation test on software before turnover to QA, ensuring product conforms to specification. " Assist manager in development of detailed work plans. " Attend status meetings, schedule design meetings as needed, prepare meeting minutes, maintain project plan, and maintain documents on both eTracker and StarTeam. Communication/Interpersonal " Act as a "business partner" assisting GC business unit managers and staff in the development of both technology-based and process-based business solutions. " Promote relationships with the business community by maintaining contact with clients and markets. " Support developers and quality assurance analysts throughout the development and testing process, ensuring that requirements are stated completely and unambiguously, and that open issues are addressed properly.
